The dates shown are the original Cuban publication dates. When republished by Tusquets Editores in Barcelona, the books were issued in the order 3-4-1-2. This order was followed in the first English editions published by Bitter Lemon Press, London — Red, Black, Blue, Gold. The English editions cite the Spanish copyright dates — 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2001 — not the original Cuban dates noted above. The order given here is the correct one — Blue, Gold, Red, Black.
